A.P. govt. plans to create ‘Quantum Valley’, says Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has stated that the State government will set up a task force and also plans to create a ‘Quantum Valley’, a world-class quantum computing hub, in Andhra Pradesh that is in line with the National Quantum Mission. 

In a post on ‘X’ on Monday (March 10, 2025), Mr. Naidu said that quantum technology was set to bring revolutionary advancements in various fields. ‘‘Just as we led the Information Technology revolution in the 1990s, we want Andhra Pradesh to lead advancements in Quantum Technology, securing a first-mover advantage in this transformative field.’‘

“Taking a step in that direction, we are setting up a task force and working on a plan to create a ‘Quantum Valley’, a world-class quantum computing hub in Andhra Pradesh that is in line with the National Quantum Mission,” he said. 

This initiative, in collaboration with IIT Madras, TCS, and IBM will help A.P. become a national hub for quantum computing research, attracting top-tier talent and global investments.

The A.P. Government took the lead in organising a key meeting to drive this effort. Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, along with S.N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman & MD, L&T, Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, J.B.V. Reddy, head, Quantum Technology Centre, DST, Prof. Satyanarayana Kalidindi, Director, IIT-Tirupati, Prof. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, Amith Singhee, Director, IBM Research India, and Venkat Subramaniam of IBM Quantum India were present.
