Are you still using an iPhone X or the first-generation iPad Pro? If so, you might want to pay attention to the latest Netflix update. As of now, Netflix has announced that it will be discontinuing support for devices running iOS 16. This means if your Apple device can’t upgrade to iOS 17 or later, you’ll soon find yourself locked out of the newest Netflix features and updates.

Netflix’s recent update informs users with older devices of this change. An alert now prompts those using iOS 16, stating, “We’ve updated the Netflix app! To use the latest version, install iOS 17 or later.” While you can continue using the app for now, future updates will no longer be available to you. This includes crucial bug fixes and security enhancements.

Affected devices include the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, first-generation iPad Pro, and the 5th-generation iPad. If you’re using any of these models, you’ll need to upgrade to a newer device to keep enjoying Netflix’s latest updates and improvements. Although your current app version will still work, you’ll miss out on future upgrades and new features.

Although Netflix has not officially confirmed the news, an update found in the latest Netflix app hints at an upcoming change.

In June, Netflix discontinued its services for third-generation Apple TV customers. The company has now confirmed it will be ending support for certain older Apple TV models. In an email to subscribers, Netflix had announced that it will be “sunsetting support” for the 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV devices starting July 31.

For those reluctant to part with their older devices, there’s good news. You can still access Netflix via a web browser on your computer, so you won’t be completely cut off. However, if you’re eager to experience the latest Netflix enhancements, now might be the time to consider upgrading your device.Reliance Jio has launched new prepaid plans that include Netflix subscriptions. Their Rs 1299 plan provides 2GB daily data, unlimited calls, and access to the Netflix Mobile pack, while the Rs 1799 plan offers 3GB daily data and the Netflix Basic plan. Both plans are valid for 84 days, and with the inclusion of Netflix, they offer a great way to enjoy streaming content alongside your data benefits.
