Google is enhancing YouTube Premium with new features including high-quality 256kbps audio on music videos, a ‘jump ahead’ feature on web, and faster playback speeds on mobile.

The paid version of YouTube allows users to watch videos without ads and also make use of additional perks such as background play for music, and downloads.

YouTube announced the new features in a company blog post.

In addition to these features, iOS users are getting picture-in-picture for YouTube Shorts, conversational AI, and smart downloads for YouTube Shorts. Meanwhile, Android users in the UK and Ireland are set to get the ‘Ask Music’ feature that creates personalised radio stations based on user requests and moods.

In addition to this, it was announced that U.S. users who buy a Google One Premium plan or higher will save on YouTube Premium.

“Your YouTube, your way. Today, we’re rolling out new experiments and features that give Premium users even more options to enhance how they watch their favorite content – from creator shows to music videos to podcasts,” said the company in its blog post.
