The leak originates from a Korean tipster ‘yeux1122’, who shared what appear to be computer-aided design (CAD) renders on the blogging site Naver. These images reveal a larger internal space for the upgraded battery, a redesigned component layout, repositioned MagSafe coils, and possible room for a vapour-chamber cooling system. Apple’s MagSafe technology allows wireless charging and magnetic accessory attachment on iPhones and other compatible devices.
Reports surfaced in July highlighting leaked details about the upcoming device, originally shared by a user named Instant Digital on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
However, back then, as the tech site 9to5Mac pointed out, “a battery’s capacity doesn’t have a 1:1 correlation with battery life improvements.”
The renders also suggest the new model will adopt a metal-covered battery, already used in the iPhone 16 Pro, now extended to the Pro Max variant. This metal casing helps with heat dissipation, which becomes more important with larger batteries.
Media reports suggest that pricing for the iPhone 17 series may start at Rs 89,900 for the base model, with the iPhone 17 Air at around Rs 95,000 and the Pro Max potentially priced at Rs 1,64,900.
Apple is expected to officially unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, including the Air, Pro, and Pro Max, on September 9, 2025.
