Instagram is rolling out a new feature that allows users to control what their feed looks like starting with Reels. Adam Mosseri, head of the platform announced the update saying it will later be expanded to the Explore section too.
Users can add and remove topics they’re interested in to have “more control over their Instagram algorithm,” Mosseri added.
Meta is also looking at implementing the same option for Threads.
The topics appear to be specific cultural trends across areas like Bad Bunny, vintage Patek, Japanese artisan menswear and stand-up comics.
The feature is being made available to a select group of users in the U.S.
Recently, the platform launched new features for users to see what reels their friends are liking and reposting.
