Apple iPhone 16e launched with A18 processor, 48 MP camera and Apple Intelligence

Ending speculation about its new launch, Apple on Wednesday (February 19, 2025) launched the new iPhone 16e instead of the iPhone SE 4 featuring the new A18 processor, Apple Intelligence and iOS 18 out-of-the-box. With the new iPhone 16e, the U.S. based company introduced a new identity of ‘e’ phones in its cavalry.

Apple iPhone 16e comes integrated with ChatGPT in writing tools and Siri on top of having gen AI features like the Clean Up tool that claims to remove unwanted elements in a photo.

The new Apple iPhone 16e comes with Type-C charging port and also supports wireless charging. The phone features a C1 modem for 5G connectivity.

The Apple iPhone 16e features a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED notch display, protected by ceramic shield. The phone is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance.

Like all the phones in the series 16, the new iPhone 16e has the Action button as well for launching camera or flash, activating modes, voice memo, translate and magnifier.

Apple has used a 48 MP rear camera in iPhone 16e with 2x telephoto zoom. It sports a 12 MP front camera for selfies.

Apple claims that the iPhone 16e lasts up to six hours longer than iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than all generations of iPhone SE.

Apple iPhone 16e starts at ₹59,900 for the 128 GB variant. There are two other variants, a 256 GB model priced at ₹69,900, and a 512 GB unit at ₹89,900. The pre-booking starts Feb 21 while the delivery is slated for February 28 in India.

The iPhone 16e comes in Black and White colours with matte finish.
