Meet Kim Kardashian’s new best friend, Optimus! However, Optimus is no mere mortal; he is a humanoid robot invented by the Elon Musk-owned company Tesla. The entrepreneur-socialite recently shared some videos of her interacting with Optimus. In the clips, the diva could be seen playing the rock-paper-scissors game with the robot.

Sharing the clip on X, Kardashian wrote, “Meet my new friend!” In the video, she appeared awed at the robot’s antics. She is seen saying “Hi” to the robot, making a heart gesture, and asking, “Can you do this?” The robot quickly follows her lead, which amazes Kim as she gasps and says, “You know how to do that!” At the end of the clip, she suggests that they both go for a run.

The clip went viral on X, gaining more than 4 million views and 33K likes. Netizens were thoroughly amused by the clip and speculated that this may just be a rather innovative marketing tactic from tesla. One X user quipped, “Tesla does not need a marketing department!” Another commented, “Tesla knows how to market their products better than anyone else.” Another wittily observed that robots are the perfect “low maintenance boyfriends..”

According to Fortune, the these robots were initially controlled by handlers during their debut rather than functioning independently. However, in Kim’s videos, it is uncertain whether a handler is present or if the robot is operating autonomously. Reports suggest the robot is priced between $20,000 and $30,000.

After showcasing the robot on Instagram, Kim also offered a brief look at the autonomous Tesla Cybercab, a vehicle designed without a steering wheel or pedals. Her video concluded with a view of the car’s interior, leaving it unclear whether she intends to purchase the Cybercab.
